What time will After Life Season 2 be released onto Netflix?
The release date for the next batch of episodes from After Life Season 2 is April 24. As is customary for Netflix content, the episodes will be released at 00:01 a.m. PDT on Friday morning. When After Life 2 drops in your country will depend on your time difference from America’s west coast. In Gervais’ native Britain, for example, episodes will drop at 8:01 a.m. BST on April 24.
Like the first installment of the show, After Life Season 2 has six episodes, each of which is about 30 minutes long. They will be released all at once onto the streaming service.
Netflix is also streaming the first season of the show now for those who want to catch up on what happened with Tony (played by Gervais) and the rest of the show’s offbeat characters in the first season. Also available on the streaming service is a trailer for Season 2 that gives fans an idea of what they can expect from the new episodes.
Though the end of Season 1 saw Tony in a slightly better place after the death of his wife Lisa (Kerry Godliman), Gervais told press in the lead-up to the show’s release that his problems are far from over. He said: “People thought that he was better at the end of [Season] 1. Why? Because someone asked him out on a date and made him feel better for a minute?
“Is he over depression? Is he over his mental illness, his anxiety, his grief? No, he’s not. He’s just trying different ways to cope with it. It’s up and down, like life.”
So far, all of Gervais shows, which include the original Office as well as Extras, Derek and Life’s Too Short, have run for two seasons, meaning these may be the final episodes of the Netflix show. However, the comedian has expressed willingness to return for more.
He said: “I don’t know about a series three. For the first time ever, I would do a series three, because the world’s so rich, I love the characters, I love all the actors in it, I love my character, I love the town, I love the themes… I love the dog!
“So I would do a third, but it’s got to be a real demanded-for encore. I’m not gonna just do it. "
After Life Season 2 is released on Netflix on April 24.
