Among Us developers Innersloth updated its player base about the tweaks with a new blog post on Monday. The post starts with a message about the ongoing cheating and hacking attempts that certain players are insistent on trying.

“Firstly, we want to be sure to talk about the cheating and hacking going on. It was pretty bad there for a bit, so Forte [one of the developers] pushed out server changes really fast. They seemed to help a lot, but some cheats still work and now there are bugs too,” the blog post reads. “There will be more server updates to fix all of this, but rushing anti-hacks is what caused the bugs, so cleaning things up is a slower process. Also rest assured that any threats made in the game are false and your devices and data are safe. If you see a hacker, ban them or find a different room.”

Following the message, the developers broke down what changes are coming in this latest update. The update contains the following, according to the blog post:

Innersloth then addressed some of the upcoming updates it’s planning for the game.

All votes appear as grey

  • Added Task Bar Modes

Always mode works like normal

Meeting mode only updates the bar during meetings

Invisible mode removes the task bar entirely

  • MIRA: Comms sabotage clears the security logs

-Added symbols to fix wires task

-Added cosmetics to meeting screen

-Various bug fixes

And while the developers haven’t shared an official roadmap, they obviously wanted to let players know what they’re working on. This includes relatively simple features like having accounts so that plates can report accounts that are “toxic and/or hacking.” Although Innersloth admits that that sort of feature will be “barebones” at first, but things like a friends list will also come at a later date.

Innersloth is also working on a brand new map. It’s Henry Stickmin-themed (that’s another game developed by Innersloth), and will be larger than the current space map. It will also contain new tasks and be available for free to all players.

The team is also working on translations and localization to bring Among Us to as many countries as possible. It’s also working on colorblind support. This new patch will contain a “first pass” on colorblind support and the team will continue to monitor how it works.

Among Us is available on PC and mobile devices.
