This new feature arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the version 1.4 update and lets players enjoy this summer-themed show each Sunday in August.

Although the first Sunday of August hasn’t happened yet as of this writing, players have used the tried-and-true method of changing the date and time of their Nintendo Switch consoles to “fast forward” to August 2 to check out this feature first-hand.

Players have resorted to doing this because customizing your fireworks and being able to watch the show can only happen on the day of the show. So if you want to learn how to customize your fireworks and everything else involved with the show, continue reading.

HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM FIREWORKS IN ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS

Isabelle is the person to talk to if you want to customize your fireworks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. During the fireworks show on Sunday, which happens around 8 p.m. local time, you’ll need to talk with Isabelle twice. The first time, you’ll receive a special event item and the second, she’ll let you upload up to 10 custom images to be made into fireworks.

Now, you won’t be able to create designs right there, but they will come from your custom images in your NookPhone. These designs and images are usually created for clothes, flags and other things. You can upload these designs via a QR Code or create them with the help of the Able Sisters.

To learn more about uploading images and designs, refer to our guide.

It should be noted that there will be other firework designs along with your own, so don’t feel discouraged if you don’t see your custom design in the sky right away.

OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING A FIREWORK SHOW

So what else can you do on the day of a fireworks show? Of course, you can sit and watch the spectacle with residents or friends by inviting them over to your island—see our guide for that—but you’ll also be able to obtain special items.

Redd, the wily fox who sells counterfeit art, will be present during the show to sell raffle tickets. You can win sparklers and other items to help celebrate the fireworks show.

Pull a number from Redd’s raffle and you’ll win one of the following items:
