Offside Ronaldo causes outrage
The Portugal international scored a hat-trick as Madrid eased into the semi-finals of Europe’s premier competition, although the game was not without controversy.
Referee Viktor Kassai has come under scrutiny for the decision to send off Arturo Vidal, while two of Ronaldo’s three goals were deemed by many to have been offside.
That hasn’t deterred the Madrid superstar in celebrating the win, however, a result that sees them reach the last four of the competition for the seventh season in a row.

Zidane calls for Ronaldo boos to stop
Madrid will now await Friday’s draw for the semi-finals, where they could well meet Atletico Madrid yet again in Europe’s elite club tournament.
Diego Simeone’s side defeated Leicester City 2-1 on aggregate, with Saul Niguez’s away goal proving vital for Atleti at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
