German director Edward Berger has adapted the famous 1929 novel of the same name by German solider and journalist Erich Maria Remarque, bringing to the screen the harrowing experiences of the German army fighting on the frontlines in World War I. Berger is the third director to adapt Remarque’s novel and the first German director to do so. Moldovan-American director Lewis Milestone was behind the first adaption in 1930 and American director Delbert Mann was behind the 1979 adaption....

Rick Cooper shared a video that shows the alligator eating a bird on his Facebook page July 10, which was later shared in a community group where it amassed more than 100,000 views. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), alligators are found in every one of Florida’s counties. The agency has a Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program (SNAP), which addresses alligator threats in developed areas. “Generally, an alligator is deemed a nuisance if it is at least 4 feet in length and the caller believes it poses a threat to people, pets or property,” the FWC said....
